Brunel have partnered with a leading International OEM to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Commercial Project Manager to support our Clients Commercial & Risk Management Department.

The Commercial Project Manager (‘CPM’) reports to the CFO and operates within delegated levels of financial and executive authority.

The CPM, jointly with the Project Manager (technical), is responsible for the financial outcome of a project. The primary role of the CPM is to ensure nominated projects are run commercially advantageous by ensuring development and maintenance of effective and responsive project contracts, risk, financial, reporting and performance indicator elements and to independently report to the CFO and CEO the health and status of project delivery.

The CPM shall support the CFO in the development and maintenance of personnel, systems, procedures and tools to ensure the project controls and contracts services provided are high class, state of the art and performed in accordance with QA and compliance requirements.

The CPM shall develop relationships with peers in subsidiary and affiliate companies to assist the implementation of the organisation. The CPM shall encourage and assist Project Controls and Contracts departments to develop relationships with branches, subsidiary and affiliate companies that will foster the sharing of skills and experience and contribute to the growth and development of company-wide technical knowledge and expertise.


  • STEM, Commerce, Law or Construction Management or Engineering Degree combined with site and home office finance and / or Contracts experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body – Desirable.
  • Broad industry and management experience including contracts, project controls and construction preferably in the resources and energy industry
  • Analytical and lateral thinking
  • Strong inter-personal skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Articulate – oral and written.
  • Experience in contract formation and administration; all aspects of project controls; risk management; in an engineering, procurement and construction / construction management environment.
  • Knowledge of Australian and international standards relating to contracts.
  • Project controls or financial management.
  • Dispute resolution knowledge and experience.
