Coating Engineer

Work experience 3 - years minimum in corrosion protection on coatings and linings by the related industries: Shipbuilding, Chemical, petrochemical plant, construction Yard or offshore process facilities (e.g. platforms);

- Knowledge of international coating standards, coating application methods;

- experience of inspection on quality of applied coating and lining;

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent;

Professional coating Inspector qualifications - NACE II, Frosio II or equivalent

Tasks:

1. Review vendor documents within SBM vendor document management system;
2. Answer queries from vendor management team (i.e. SBM package managers and SBM package engineers) with regards to vendor documentation only;
3. Retrieve information, highlight discrepancies between DR, AC, QCP, P&ID, Equipment Data Sheets (AK), Instrument Data Sheets (AJ);
4. Ensure deliverables issued by equipment suppliers, manufacturers comply with project specifications and international rules, codes, standards referenced therein, complies with the Group Technical Standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Become conversant with SBM specifications applicable to the vendors’ scopes;
2. Follow SBM guidelines for Vendor Document Review (example for Vendor Procedures attached.);
3. Ensure vendor documents comply with requirements:

• Procedure (code DR) must comply with SBM spec;
• Quality Control Plan / ITP (code QCP) must comply with SBM spec and Vendor Procedure once approved;
• Coating Records (code DS) must comply with SBM spec and Vendor Procedure once approved;

1. Actively seek assistance from Project Coating Engineer or Discipline Lead Engineer (DLE) on the Project.

Tasks:

3. Retrieve information, highlight discrepancies between DR, AC, QCP, P&ID, Equipment Data Sheets (AK), Instrument Data Sheets (AJ).
